Once you’ve booked your hotel, flights and activities the last thing you need to do is choose a car to hire. Car hire rental companies in Spain do vary in quality so it is important to remember this when searching. Before you start you need to think about what car you want and various other things. But how do you choose a rental company when you have all this information?

First of all, if you are from America then you need to be aware that in Europe most of the rental cars use manual transmission, so if you haven’t used this type of car before you should make sure you that you practice a bit before you go to avoid embarrassment. You can ask for automatic but the chances of them having one available are quite slim, so be prepared.

The majority of rental cars will be fuel efficient – or at least they should be – but it is worth checking this with the rental company before you book in a car just to be on the sage side. Travelling in Spain by car is probably a bit more expensive than other methods but does provide a lot more freedom so it is something you have to decide upon.

If you are going to be taking a large family on holiday with you with lots of grown ups then be aware that some rental car service will provide quite small cars! You should check out the American versions of the capacity of the car you will be using before booking if you think this might be a problem for you again to be on the safe side. You should also take into account that in general the boot of the car is quite small, so don’t count on putting lots of large suitcases in it unless you have measured out the size beforehand.

It is probably not a good idea to pay extra for things like cruise control as in general you aren’t going to use them much on holiday. Especially if you are on a tight budget, picking low cost car rentals in Spain is definitely the best way to go.

It is always a good idea to research your car rental company before you book with them to avoid any nasty surprises that might be waiting for you once you arrive! A little bit of effort goes a long way to helping you get the best car hire for you and your holiday.

There are plenty of things that you need to think about when looking for a car to hire in Spain, and you can find more of them throughout this site. While it might seem that this is all a bit over the top – it’s just a car after all – it is always a good idea to do thorough research into which car hire company you are going to go for before you buy it –to avoid any unwanted stress on holiday. In this article I’ll be going through some of the questions that people ask about general travelling in Spain, whether that is in a Spanish rental car or just the local taxi services.

Do I need car insurance?

When you get a rental car it is nearly always a good idea to make sure you are fully covered with regards to insurance, just in case anything does go wrong. Having an accident in a car is stressful enough as it is, let alone in another country with someone else’s car, so make sure you are as protected as possible. In some cases you can get rental car insurance for around $20 a day, which isn’t much for the added peace of mind that it brings. If you can’t afford fully comp insurance then you should at least get some basic insurance, although I would always recommend going for the comprehensive option.

Can I rent a car in Spain without a credit card?

I can’t use personal experience for this one, but I have been told that there are companies that accept debit cards in Spain for car rental, but many don’t. You should definitely check this before you visit to be on the safe side. Some will also accept cash and even cheques in a small minority, but before you go it is vital that you make sure there are companies that do this from your airport if you are going to get the hire car when you are out in Spain.

Can I rent a car at any age?

This may vary between companies, but in most cases you need to have at least a year’s driving experience. Some companies will also require a minimum age, so make sure you read the small print to find out what that is before hiring a car.

If you have any other questions about Spanish car rental then please don’t hesitate to use the contact form on the site and we will attempt to answer them here. There are lots of issues that occur when you are renting a car in other countries, and it can be difficult to know how to get around it as it is a tricky subject.

When you are thinking about going to Spain, then a few things you need to think about is of course what kind of vehicle that you need and how long you will need it for. You also need to make sure if a few different things so that your trip will go as smoothly as you’d like.

Are you able to drive in Spain?

One of the things that people forget is that just because you have a British licence doesn’t always mean you are free to drive in any other country. In Europe in most places you can’t drive if you have less than one years experience after passing your test, but in some places this differs. You could always check up on the laws of the road before you decide to rent a car because you don’t want to break the law when you are on holiday in Spain!

Can you drive on the right side of the road?

And by right I mean opposite from left, not “correct”! Most people find it a bit strange on the other side of the road to begin with but after a while it becomes easy. However if you have a real problem with it then you may have to factor this into your decision for holiday car hire. You don’t want to spend your whole holiday a nervous wreck!

Can I hire a car when I get to the airport?

There are often plenty of car hire companies at the airport, but if at all possible you should try and book the car rental before you get to Spain as they usually cost more once you get there. This is because they know that you don’t really have an option once you arrive – but when booking at home you have all the time you need to get the most affordable Spanish car hire.

Choosing a car isn’t always easy, but you should bear a few things in mind when you do. For example, how much are you going to drive. Can you fit all your driving into one day of the week to cut down on costs, or do you need a car for your whole stay? How many people are going to be using your car? This will obviously affect how big a car you need to get. Are you going to be driving long distances? If so then you may want to rent a more comfortable car than if you are only going to be driving short distances. Could you get by on public transport to save a bit of money? If so then it may be a good idea to save on money for your travelling if you are on a tight budget.

As you can see, there are plenty of things you need to consider when renting a car in Spain. It isn’t always easy, but if you spend a bit of time researching you will be much more likely to get good results than if you just choose the first car company. You wouldn’t do this with your hotel, so don’t do it with your form of transport.

Once you’ve decided on your perfect holiday destination – Spain or one of the Spanish islands, then you need to start thinking about how you are going to get around. You could wait until you arrive at the airport to book a hire car, but usually this will be more expensive than booking a rental car before you leave, so you should definitely think about doing so when you are booking up your trip.

One of the first things you should do is take an internet search for low cost car rental in Spain. If you compare a few places you can see that in some cases you can get rental for around £14 a day, or in some cases £80 a week. Of course when looking for car rental in Spain or Spanish islands the quality will change between companies and this is a real problem. Before booking you should look around and see what people are saying about the rental company. Are they on time? Do they have overly strict rental agreements? Do they provide cars that are up to scratch and will run well? One or two bad reviews may be just a bad day for the company, but if you find lots of people slating the vehicles and the service then you should probably think about choosing a different company. You don’t want a nasty surprise once you get to the airport only to find that you don’t have a car or van in Spain that is up to the job.

One of the things that it is really important to do is read all the licensing agreements before you get a deal with a rental company. This will sort out things like what happens if you crash the car, return it late and various other things. You should always read this thoroughly before you make your final decision just to make sure there are no nasty clauses hiding in the small print.

There are some price comparison sites for cheap car hire, although you’ll have to try and find one that deals specifically with Spain. A Spanish rental car is easy to find, but finding one that suits your holiday needs as well as being affordable isn’t always so straightforward, which is why you should take your time when researching so as to make sure you don’t get a deal on a vehicle or van that you can’t really afford or isn’t good enough for what you want to do on your holiday.

When choosing anything to do with your holiday in Spain it is vital that you do your proper research into the rental company that you will be choosing. Whether you are getting luxury chauffeur driven care hire or something a little bit more subtle you want to make sure your money is going as far as it possibly can. Price comparison sites are great but they don’t always tell you the whole story because they don’t include things about the small print and other factors that you must consider.

Spanish Car Hire Example

If you are going to Spain on holiday than the first thing I should say is lucky you! It is a fantastic place to visit, and there are many things to see all over the country. However that means that if you want to see it all you need to be able to move around, and this is where Spanish car hire comes into its own. Holiday car hire isn’t always easy though, because there are so many different options that you can choose from. Which company do you go for? This website will aim to answer some of those questions and help you to choose the right company for you, so that you can see the best of Spain for the cheapest price possible.

Cheap Spanish car hire isn’t always easy to find, and it is often better to get a more expensive rental so that you can be sure that you’re getting the quality that you need. You need to think about what you are looking for in a hire car and watch your travelling needs are going to be. For example, if you’re going to be three or four children with you, then you need to make sure that you get a big enough vehicle to fit them all in comfortably so that you have a good holiday and don’t end up getting too stressed! On the other hand if it is just going to be you, and you’re not going to be doing much long-distance travelling, then maybe you can go for one of the cheaper car rentals.

Like anything that is a varying degree of quality when it comes to Spanish car rental. One of the best ways of looking to see whether the car you are considering provides quality vehicles that will not break down when you need them most, is to look on the Internet for reviews from other people who have used the service. You have to be careful with this though because some companies will write fake reviews, so you should always take an average of the reviews so that you can get an accurate description of how your car will perform.

When you choose an affordable Spanish car hire you should always make sure that you read through the rental agreement carefully. This will be important because some car hire is will allow you to do things that others don’t. This document is a legally binding contract so you need to make sure you understand it before using the vehicle. The contract will cover things such as what happens if you damage the car and what happens if you happen to return late. You should make sure you know exactly what happens if either of these things do occur so that you will not be surprised by the terms of the rental agreement.

When you are travelling around Spain, there are many places that you will want to see, and often the best way to do this is to hire a car, simply because it means that you don’t have to rely on public transport and you can be in control of your own holiday. There are plenty of Villas in Spain but unless you can find one right where you want to visit a car is almost essential. However if you are one of those people who are only going to do one trips throughout the holiday, then you may be able to get away without renting a car in Spain because the transport should be sufficient for this. If you are going to be driving all over the country seeing all the different sites in Barcelona, Madrid and other places in Spain, then it may be better to you to get a hire car.

Before you go you should also try and get an idea of which places in Spain you want to visit, so you can get maps printed off all the different areas that you will need to drive through. You should also make sure that you know all the rules and regulations of the roads in Spain, as well as being sure that you can drive on the wrong side of the road if you are from the UK.

While the vast majority of car hire in Spain companies are completely legitimate you do need to be careful and make sure that you do proper research into the company that you choose before booking your vehicle. Make sure you go with a well-respected company, but many people have used before. If you know someone who has been to Spain before and has found a cheap car hire in Spain then have a talk with them and see whether they found that the company was value for money, provided good cars as well as being polite and not having an overly strict rental agreement. Low cost car rental in Spain doesn’t necessarily mean that the quality won’t be good, but it should mean that she should be a bit more wary.

If you do decide to get Spanish rental car then as long as you do the proper research into the standard of the company, as well as making sure you think about which kind of car you need and which kind of it will be best for your holiday, then I’m sure you’ll have a fantastic time. You don’t want to have the extra stress of not having the kind of vehicle that you need to, so make sure that you get everything sorted for the road before you leave. Good luck and have a fantastic holiday! If you would like more information then feel free to carry on browsing this site as there is plenty more information on Spanish car rental.
